I had a vision of the ground shaking and then the Lord told me that a shaking was coming to the church. Like a building that is being shaken by an earthquake, anything not firmly joined or in place falls apart. Just so, this shaking is coming. In a way we are in the midst of that.
I could see that He was talking about relationships not built on true connections or heart to heart were going to fall apart even more so. Covenant comes to mind with what He’s building in the body. 1 John 2:3 it says, “By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.” We cannot love Him if we don’t know Him and we come to know Him by developing deep honesty with Him. When we do, we learn what love looks like and how to love like He does, essentially keeping His command as it says in John 15:12, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”.
He was showing me that He was not focusing on infrastructures, various church governments, ways of doing ministry or theological perspectives. He showed me that He was changing the church one by one, person by person.
He’s focusing on our individual unique relationships with Him in private and in intimacy with Him. I could see that He was going to turn the tide toward a unified church by turning each of us toward His ways. In a way this is His underground way to change the face of the church by changing the foundation stones, being us, one by one. In this change of heart by heart, them that refuse to connect with Him won’t be able to connect with those that are tuned into Him deeply. It’s a kind of like water not being able to mix with oil. The body will be refined in covenant love for one another where we have each other’s backs with care and concern. The Lord is the author of it all.
As a side note, I ask if there a critical mass before the Lord pours out His Spirit in an unprecedented way? At what point does He view the body en masse as having sufficiently established a depth of intimacy with Him before the next step in His great design for humanity in history? These are questions I ask Him. All I get is a vision of copper wires making a clean connection before power flows freely. He’s cleaning connections between us and Him one by one and as that’s happening, I’m seeing relationships flow more smoothly with less drama. The timing of His ways with us now is inscrutable, but in the meantime I continue to seek His heart and point of view on everything. I believe that out of the integrity of intimacy with Him we are going to have our prayers for anything answered as Jesus indicates in John 14:14, “You may ask me for anything in My name, and I will do it.” He’s aligning us with His agenda. Team work.
