The Lord was making it very clear that He is responsible for us. He’s responsible for our well being and everything that concerns us. He is with us in everything. The Holy Spirit reminded me that He is the Paraclete — Advocate, Counselor, Helper. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit indwelled by Him. He says He and we are in it together. He is with us no matter where we’re at even in the throes of sin, rebellion or total unbelief of His existence. Extraordinarily He says He’s responsible for discipling us out of our bad choices. He empowers us to believe in Him. The father of the prodigal son took it upon himself to be responsible for restoring his returning son. We are always welcome in His arms. He says, “I am responsible for you.”
All our concerns are His because we share a life together. He may not agree with our choices, but He’s still in it with us. His guiding light leads us out even if it takes a lifetime. His victory is our victory because we are one with Him and Him with us. We are inextricably intertwined forever. All lives are.
He laid a foundation of relationship with Him before we were born. We are made of His very essence — His breath. If we call out to Him now, it’s because He instilled it in us to call to Him, “Abba Father.” Deep calls unto deep. He put that instinct in us so that like when a child cries out, the Father appears. Jesus comes to comfort us when we cry out to Him, no questions asked, because He cares. It’s His responsibility to do so like a parent. This implies a guarantee of a positive response from our loving God always.
Proverbs 20:27 – The human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one’s inmost being.
2 Timothy 2:13 – If we are faithless, He remains faithful…
Psalm 42:1-2,7 – As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? … 7 Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.
